About the property:
Sozo Mountain is located in Campos do Jordão. This city is at the highest elevation for a residential city in all of Brazil. Sozo Mountain will be a true “light on the hill”. That is most significant and strategic. The property is about 5 acres of land and has two structures on it. Originally, this property was developed by an Argentinian business man as an equestrian type bed and breakfast for people to come and escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. At just under 50,000 square feet, the residence has 32 bedrooms and 43 bathrooms, a large kitchen space and a generous amount of open space with several other rooms. There are rooms for offices and a space to establish a medical clinic area.
There is also a large out building of approximately 13,000 square feet. This was utilized as an indoor horse arena. The building and surrounding area is no longer used as a horse arena and has been converted into an event space. This will be a wonderful place to hold activities, events and camps.

1. $1.2 Million Property Purchase
The dollar is at an all time high to the Brazilian Real. Capitalizing on this is a huge cost savings. At the churrent exchange rate (as of 9/29/20), we need $1.2 million for the property purchase. This represents a cost reduction of several millions of dollars from a short time ago when the exchange rate was 3 times lower.
2. $350K for Property Renovations
The property has been vacant for 12+ years.Therefore, it will need repairs and maintenance. It will also require some upgrades to accommodate the use as a Children's Home. Some of these items include a new permimeter wall, upgrading the kitchen, child safe windows, outfitting of the medical clinic, laundry facilities and painting.
3. $250K One-Time Start Up Costs
There aree one-time start up costs involved in getting the property and functions of Sozo Mountain established, such as: a passenger van & pickup truck, maintenance equipment, office equipment, generator, children's toys/play equipment and various furnishings.
4. $200K First Year Staffings Costs
Teachers, psychologist, social worker, nurse, adminstration, grounds, kitchen staff etc.

Any funds raised in excess of the 1.2 million campaign goal for the purchase of the property will be allocated toward rennovations. The property will need to be outfitted with child-safe windows, a new exterior perimeter wall, kitchen upgrade, laundry equipment, outfitting of the medical clinic, exterior painting and various repairs. (estimated rennovation costs are $350K)
